Fundraising

Our cheer program is a self-funding program built on the effort and dedication of our sponsors, booster club families and cheerleaders.  Throughout the cheer season, we run many fundraisers which provide much-needed funding for the day-to-day program costs.  Some of these fundraisers include product sales such as subs, pastries, hot dogs, football cheer calendars, etc.  Other fundraisers are volunteer-based, such as running the varsity football game bake sale table and manning our annual Rams Spirit cheerleading competition.  Our parents and cheerleaders generously volunteer their time in order to make these programs successful.

HERCO Volunteering

Each year, we partner with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts to raise funds for our Booster Club.  We are provided an opportunity to volunteer to work shifts in the Ushering or Food & Beverage departments throughout the year.  Volunteer positions can be at Hersheypark, Hershey Stadium, or Giant Center. Opportunities are emailed to the Booster Club membership throughout the year.  The length of the shift varies depending on the event.  Volunteers receive at least one Hersheypark admission voucher and the Booster Club receives $6/hr for each shift worked.  Volunteer opportunities will be emailed to the membership throughout the year.  It is IMPERATIVE that volunteers show up for shifts they’ve requested or our club may be bounced from the program.  Strict guidelines are provided by Hershey regarding dress codes and procedures for volunteers.  See program details and requirements in the Volunteer Manuals under Resources/Forms & Documents.

Football Calendar Posters

Each year, we offer football calendar posters for sale to friends, family, and local businesses to proudly display and show their Ram Pride.  The posters feature an 8×10 photo of a cheerleader or the cheer team along with the football schedule for the Freshman, JV, and Varsity football teams.  The cost is $20/poster and the deadline to order this year is Friday, August 5th, so we have time to order the pictures, assemble the calendars, and distribute them in time for the first football game.  Payment must be submitted with order.  Obtain a Poster Order Form under Resources/Forms & Documents.

Business Sponsorships

Each year, our cheerleaders and parents reach out to local businesses in the community to seek their support for our program.  Various levels of sponsorship are available and each level provides a corresponding level of benefits.  Sponsorship forms as well as more info about the program can be found on the Become a Sponsor page.  Obtain a sponsorship form under Resources/Forms & Documents.

Art Parties

Maureen Marks will again be volunteering her time to do a few art parties to benefit the Booster Club.  Last year, events hosted by our members raised over $1,800 for the Club.  Fundraising parties can be arranged now through the end of November.  The number of parties she will donate is limited so please see the flyer under Resources/Forms & Documents for more info and, if interested in hosting a party, contact Maureen (artgirl1965@gmail.com) to arrange. 

Football Frenzy Ticket Sales

Between mid-August and mid-October, we sell Football Frenzy tickets to friends, neighbors, dads, and brothers for $10 each.

Football Frenzy tickets are based on the last ten weeks of the NFL season.  The first week is November 1st and the last week is January 3rd.  Three different teams are randomly listed on each ticket under each of the ten weeks.  Each week, the ticketholder totals the scores of the three teams listed on the ticket for that week.  If the total score on the ticket for any given week is 1st/2nd/3rd highest of all the tickets sold, the ticketholder wins $100/$30/$20, respectively.  So in summary, for $1 per week, each ticketholder has a chance to win up to $100 per week for the last 100 weeks of the pro football season.  A sample ticket can be seen here.

Sub & Pretzel Sandwich Sales

Once or twice per season, we sell subs and pretzel sandwiches.  Subs are $5.50 and pretzel sandwiches are $4.50.  This is a very popular fundraiser for the Club and provides something that just about everybody can use – food!  Form distribution dates, order due dates, and delivery dates will be provided.  You can obtain a Sub/Sandwich Order Form under Resources/Forms & Documents.

Butter Braid Sale

In early November, we sell Butter Braids – one of our most popular fundraisers of the year.  Since we first started selling these years ago they have become a favorite! The braids come frozen and small, and after letting sit for 8-12 hours puff up to fill a 9×13 pan! They are absolutely delicious and perfect for the holidays! Form distribution dates, order due dates, and delivery dates will be provided.  You can obtain a Butter Braid Order Form under Resources/Forms & Documents.

Panera/Chipotle Fundraiser Nights

Many local restaurants, including Panera and Chipotle, offer fundraising nights whereby a booster club chooses and markets a fundraising night for the selected restaurant.  In return, the restaurant donates a portion of the sales to the Booster Club depending upon how many people show up in show up to eat that night in support of the Club.  These fundraisers are impromptu and can be organized by any parent at any time.  Please contact Doug Marks (pres@cdcheerleading.org) to obtain more information.
